HVCC Update

The Home Valuation Code of Conduct (HVCC) establishes standards for solicitation, selection, compensation, conflicts of interest and appraiser independence. It became effective May 1, 2009, for any mortgage that will be sold to Fannie Mae or Freddie Mac;
Federal Housing Administration (FHA) adopted a number of HVCC provisions in September, 2009. CAR is in support of an effort to regulate AMCs on the state level.  Below are Talking Points and additional information:

2010 REALTOR® Day at the Capitol
Well over 200 REALTORS® met in Denver on February 2nd to catch up on issues affecting the real estate industry and to lobby at the State Capitol.  CAR would like to extend a special thank you to our speakers:

Mark Snead, Assistant Vice President, Economist and Denver Branch Executive, Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City ● Secretary of State Bernie Buescher ● Speaker of the House Terrance Carroll ● Senate President Brandon Shaffer ● Senate Minority Leader Josh Penry ● State Representative Frank McNulty ●  Executive Director Don Marostica, Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade.

Thank you to Metro Brokers, Wells Fargo Home Mortgage and our title sponsor, Land Title, for supporting this year's event!

Political Affairs and Committees
The Colorado Association of REALTORS® grassroots effectiveness is respected throughout the state and country. Our various committee structure and political affairs programs give Colorado REALTORS® one clear voice in the state Capitol and U.S. Congress.

The Political Survival Fund (PSF) consists of invested funds from REALTOR® members who are interested in protecting real estate interests and property rights.  Although PSF investments help support candidates on all levels, the majority of PSF dollars go toward local interests which are based on recommendations from local boards and associations. The Political Survival Fund is nonpartisan, supporting above all else REALTOR® interests.
