CAR Project Wildfire Report Summer 2022

Colorado Project Wildfire (CPW), founded by CAR, is proud to announce that Evergreen REALTOR® John Putt and the Rotary Wildfire Ready team are securing funding and putting those dollars to work in ways that are truly improving the safety of their high wildfire risk community. An infrared camera was installed to observe and send warnings at the first signs of a wildfire. Despite this new technology, Evergreen and too many other front-range communities are facing a lack of and too complex evacuation routes. There are overarching threats to residents in particular communities based on both the population and geospatial roadway data.

Putt and the team have successfully secured federal funding to help with the mitigation and improvement of escape routes in Evergreen. CPW is continually looking to help REALTORS® through its wildfire grants, to create events and programs around community education, awareness, and fire mitigation. Across the entire state, these issues are extensive and REALTORS® are in a unique position to support and educate their communities.
