Fair Housing Month

Join us for four engaging sessions throughout the month of April!

Let’s celebrate Fair Housing Month! Join us for four engaging sessions throughout the month of April designed to help you gain an understanding of the Fair Housing Act, how REALTORS® most commonly violate the Fair Housing Act, and practical ways that REALTORS® can support diverse communities in their neighborhoods.

Show your passion for Fair Housing and participate in all four sessions to receive a special fair housing gift from CAR.

History & Risk Management

April 5, 9:00am – 10:15am

Virtual | 1 CE credit

Gain an understanding of the Fair Housing Act and the history of Fair Housing in Colorado. You may already know that Colorado was the first state to enact Fair Housing laws, but there are other historical firsts on the path to fair housing.

Attorney Eric Nesbitt will explain how some agents may unintentionally be in violation of the the Fair Housing Act with interactive case studies from current trends in the Colorado market.

Those who complete the series will get fair housing branded merch from NAR!

NAR Implicit Bias Training

April 12, 9:00am – 12:00pm

Hybrid | 3 CE credit

Be a part of a historic event and earn 3 CEs in the process! CAR and NAR will offer the first of its kind “Implicit Bias Training” class in the Nation.

Participants in the course will learn how to overcome unconscious biases that can get in the way of providing equal professional service to everyone.

In-person attendees will receive lunch after the session to network.

NAR Fairhaven Challenge

April 1 – April 22nd at Midnight

Only about 5% of #COREALTORS® have taken NAR’s Fair Housing Challenge-let’s change that!

Complete the online challenge between April 1 and April 22 at midnight (it takes about an hour) and compete with brokerages, local associations, committees, and affiliates.

Those groups with a 75% participation rate will get a well-deserved social media shoutout and a free Fair Housing item.

The Fair Haven simulation must be completed by April 22 at midnight to qualify!
