OFFICIAL NOTICE OF THE  COLORADO ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS®

The Leadership of the Colorado Association of REALTORS® (CAR) will bring forth one matter involving an amendment to the Bylaws for consideration by the Board of Directors at the meeting on Friday, October 6, 2017. Pursuant to Article 16.1 of the Bylaws, please allow the following to serve as the Official Notice of such motion.

The proposed Bylaw modification is described below:

Bylaw Amendment Motion

SHALL ARTICLE 1.1 OF THE BYLAWS BE AMENDED TO READ: “NAME – THE NAME OF THE ORGANIZATION SHALL BE THE ‘COLORADO REALTORS®.’” IN ADDITION, ALL REFERENCES TO “COLORADO ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS®” OR “CAR” IN ANY GOVERNING DOCUMENTS, MARKETING OR COMMUNICATIONS BE MODIFIED APPROPRIATELY TO REFLECT SUCH NAME CHANGE.

MOTION RATIONALE:  This modification would put a focus on the “member” rather than the “association” and further align with how most of CAR’s tangible programs have historically been promoted (i.e. current website address, consumer awareness campaign, and online communications vehicles).

In addition to the above motion, the Leadership of the Colorado Association of REALTORS® (CAR) may bring forth additional motions not requiring 30 Day notice pursuant to Article 16.1 of the Bylaws.
