Senate Bill 284 Killed

Senate Bill 284 Killed

Last night, on a procedural motion, Senate Bill 284 was killed. Therefore, the press conference scheduled for today has been CANCELLED.

The bill purported to address a so-called “loophole” in the use of urban renewal and tax increment financing on agricultural land for economic development projects but it is drafted solely to insulate a small group of hoteliers from perceived competition. The bill would have put an end to the Gaylord Rockies project, and Colorado would have seen a loss of $273 million new dollars into the state each year.

Colorado is open for business. We would like to thank all of our members for taking action on the OPPOSE SB 284- the Anti-Gaylord Bill Call for Action. Advocacy is most effective when we are all participating, and we thank you for doing your part!
