DORA Needs Your Feedback on the Current Licensing Structure
Colorado REALTOR®,
The Colorado Real Estate Commission and the Colorado Division of Real Estate are undergoing a review mandated in Colorado law. A primary purpose of the review is to determine if the licensing of real estate brokers is necessary to protect public health, safety, and welfare. In conjunction with the analysis, DORA has launched a licensee survey asking those individuals regulated by the Commission to give them their opinions on the current regulatory structure. You may have already received an email from the Division. This is a legitimate survey issued by DORA.
Whether your primary area of practice is residential, commercial, or property management or whether you are an independent broker your responses are important.
CAR encourages our members to share your feedback with DORA by completing the survey. You can access the anonymous, online survey by clicking on this LINK. The survey will close on June 30, 2016. Please share with your fellow REALTORS®.
Further, CAR 2016 Chairman, Alan Lovitt, convened a Chairman’s Advisory Group (CAG) to explore and evaluate the various functions and policies of the Division of Real Estate and Real Estate Commission needed to maintain an active, well-funded and efficient Division and Commission, and provide commensurate recommendations to DORA. The CAG worked diligently to ensure the recommendations produced covered the myriad issues facing our members across the state. Please open the attached PDF to review a copy of the recommendations submitted.
