Colorado Association of REALTORS® Honors Evan Boenning as 2020 REALTOR® of the Year; Select members throughout state also honored for distinguished service

Evan Boenning, senior broker for Aspen Snowmass Sotheby’s International Realty in Aspen, Colo, has been named Colorado REALTOR® of the Year by the Colorado Association of REALTORS® (CAR).  The award is the most prestigious award given to a CAR member and is a culmination of a distinguished career within the REALTOR® organization— at the local, state, and national levels. In addition to activity within the association, the REALTOR® of the Year is a person active at the community level and successful in business.

Boenning entered the real estate profession in 1978, and he has been involved with the Aspen Board of REALTORS® ever since. He served as president of the Aspen Board of REALTORS in 1988, as Vice President of the Mountain District for CAR in 1990, and 2019 CAR Director for the Aspen Board of REALTORS®, and he has served on several committees. Additionally, he is still an active member of the Aspen Young Professionals Network where he mentors young REALTORS®. Boenning was also a CAR Director from 1990-1994 and from 2017-2020. He also served on CAR’s Committee of 100, Finance Committee, and Colorado Project Wildfire Task Force.

Boenning has also dedicated himself to serving his community in a variety of ways. He has served as president of the Aspen Chamber Resort Association, attends city council meetings in Pitkin County where he lends his voice to the importance of personal property rights, volunteers with the Salvation Army, and has coached youth hockey in Aspen.

“I’m thrilled that Evan has been recognized as the REALTOR® of the Year,” said Janene Johnson, 2020 Chair of the Colorado Association of REALTORS®. “Evan’s contributions to the real estate industry and his community are numerous. It is impossible to quantify the value he brings to his REALTOR® colleagues. He has always been willing to contribute his time, knowledge, and resources, enabling CAR to continue its mission of being the voice of the real estate industry.”

In addition to honoring Boenning, outgoing CAR Chair Janene Johnson presented the association’s Distinguished Service Award to six individuals. The award honors outstanding contributions to the real estate industry and the association. Honorees were:
