CAR is celebrating
NATIONAL CODE OF ETHICS DAY!
June 18th is National Code of Ethics Day, a day for REALTORS® everywhere to promote the key factor separating REALTORS® from all other real estate practitioners – the Code of Ethics!
Any ethical code is meaningless, however, unless it can be clearly understood by those who must abide by it. That’s why CAR will be celebrating National Code of Ethics Day by offering a live online Code of Ethics Update course!
Code of Ethics Update Course
Thursday, June 18, 2020
9am – 12pm 3 CE credits
$10 fee (a portion of proceeds goes to the CAR Foundation)
Not only will this course meet your triennial COE requirement and provide 3 CE credits, but a portion of proceeds will go towards CAR’s REALTOR Foundation, so you’ll also be helping Coloradoans in need find affordable homes…. All at the same time!
This course will be instructed by two of your favorite Colorado Real Estate Attorneys – Scott Peterson, CAR’s General Counsel, and Damian Cox of Cox Law Firm. Scott and Damian will take students on an interactive journey with case studies of real-life scenarios.
Students will come away with an increased understanding of:
- The 17 Articles of the Code of Ethics – what each Article entails, which are most commonly violated, how to apply them to your everyday business
- Professional Standards processes for ethics enforcement, arbitration, mediation
- Procuring cause claims
- Recent COE and policy changes
There will be ample opportunities to engage with Scott and Damian through interactive case studies and Q&A throughout the entire session!
Although this course meets NAR’s Code of Ethics requirement, please check with your Local Board to ensure they do not have stricter requirements.
IMPORTANT! Due to DORA regulations for Online Distance Education, in order to receive CE credit, attendees must be present for the entire session. Attendance will be monitored through the case study poll questions that will be posted throughout the session. Attendees cannot miss ANY of the poll questions to qualify for CE. A 15-minute break is built into the schedule, so please plan to stay present for the entire session. Staff will be using reporting to enforce these rules. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Holly Krell at [email protected].
