NAR Fights for the Real Estate Industry

The National Association of REALTORS strives to influence and shape the real estate industry.  So it should be no surprise they put full force into the recent two public policy changes sweeping through Washington, D.C.   NAR worked tirelessly on tax reform and net neutrality, two policy changes that could have powerful impacts on the real estate world.

In regards to Tax Reform, NAR focused their aim on mortgage interest, capital gain exemptions for the sale of a primary home and state/local tax deductibility.  In the end, NAR was able to win a few battles and compromise others to protect the real estate industry.  The most notable win was capital gain exemptions for the sale of a primary home.

While NAR was able to get a few wins in for the Real Estate Industry, Net Neutrality was not one.  In the end, NAR came out strong in preserving and protecting the Real Estate Industry.
