FEMA Director to Speak at NAR About Risk Rating 2.0

The Federal Emergency Management Agency’s Risk Rating 2.0: Equity in Action went into effect on Oct. 2. This new system prices flood insurance for each home individually rather than by flood zone. Jack Greacen, NAR’s Colorado Political Representative, reports that members from across NAR have shared their good and bad anecdotes. NAR has created a number of helpful resources to learn about the new system. In addition, FEMA’s Senior Executive David Maurstad and his team will participate in listening sessions at NAR’s Annual Conference in San Diego. Participants must pre-register due to space limitations. The sessions take place on Thursday, Nov. 11 and Friday, Nov. 12. Please coordinate with your local association in order to not duplicate reservations. If the number of participants becomes too large for the room, NAR will work to create more space.
