Marshall Fire Renters Need Assistance, Too

Families renting homes, apartments, and hotel rooms because they lost their housing in the Marshall fire are struggling to make rent payments. Because some renters are still waiting to hear if property owners will pay to clean smoke and ash residue from their apartments, they are living in limbo, with remediation priced at thousands of dollars. During this challenging time, the Colorado Association of REALTORS® Foundation is helping by administrating $2 million in grants from the REALTORS® Relief Foundation. “The funds can support people who are struggling to pay for a new rental they’re forced to obtain because of displacement from their primary home,” said Amy McDermott, Executive Director of the CAR Foundation.
