Colorado REALTORS® Honor Derek Irick as 2024 Colorado Young Professional of the Year

ENGLEWOOD, CO – Derek Irick, an Associate Real Estate Broker with Bray Real Estate in Grand Junction, CO, was named Colorado Young REALTOR® of the Year by the Colorado Association of REALTORS® (CAR) and the Colorado Young Professionals Network (CYPN) at its annual convention in Denver.

The award, also known as the Gus Williams Young REALTOR® of the Year Award, recognizes young professionals who strive to better the industry and their local community. The CYPN is a group of REALTORS® who strive for leadership, and they honor individuals who have a strong commitment to the Young Professional Network, as well as those who raise the bar for success both in their community and real estate business.

Irick received the 2024 award for combining both his career as a successful residential real estate broker while also embracing volunteerism within his community. Irick was the Grand Junction Area REALTOR® Association Rookie of the Year in 2020 and voted Best of the West REALTOR® for the past four years, but where Irick really shines is his love and support for his local community. He serves on the board of Western Slope Center for Children, on the Mesa County Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and the Lion’s Club. In addition to being an active member of the Grand Junction Chamber of Commerce young Professionals Network, Irick is also highly active in the CMU Alumni Association, sponsoring many of its events. He has been the title sponsor for the Western Slope Center for Children’s Poker Night for the past three years while also financially supporting the Foster Alumni Mentors, Hope West, the Grand Junction Community Hospital, Young Life, and the Western Slope Center for Children.

“Having known and worked with Gus Williams in CAR Leadership years ago, I cannot think of a better candidate than Derek Irick for the CYPN REALTOR® of the Year Award. Derek joined our firm in February of 2020 and has been an inspiration to many, including myself, due to his commitment of ‘time, talent, and treasure’ to our industry and community,” said Robert L Bray, CEO of Bray Real Estate. “In my 51 years of leading a real estate brokerage, I have never witnessed such sincere and dedicated commitment.”

“Derek is the true epitome of a REALTOR®, not only consistently working hard for his clients, but volunteering both time and money where he sees the need within his community,” said Daniel Muldoon, CYPN’s 2024 Chair who presented the award to Irick. “His commitment to the people of Grand Junction is sincere.”

In addition to the award, CYPN donated $500 on Irick’s behalf to Bray Cares Foundation.
