Three Tips for Generating More LinkedIn Leads

LinkedIn is the world’s largest professional social network. However, most LinkedIn users simply sign up and then wonder, “Now what?” Being effective on LinkedIn requires some strategy. Below are three tips that, if followed, will increase the number of views your profile receives from those looking to partner with or use a Realtor.

  1. Include keywords in your profile. What words do you want to be found for via search? Those words, or short phrases, are called keywords. You cannot pop up in search for words that are not included in your profile. So, if you only include “Realtor”, and not “real estate professional,” then you could be losing out on potential leads. If you do not include specific areas you service, you may be missing out. Create a list of all of the words you want to pop up for and put them in your profile—now.
  2. Follow up on profile views. Did you notice that someone viewed your profile via the “Who’s Viewed Your Profile” section on the right of your home page? Send them a message mentioning that you noticed they looked at your profile and ask them if you may be of assistance. Sometimes LinkedIn users get busy, and forget to contact the people they’ve found in search. Don’t miss out of low-hanging fruit.
  3. Actively participate in groups. You may have noticed that most people in groups are either inactive or salesy. Don’t do that. Instead, when someone asks a question in a group composed of your target market, provide insight and answers. Build yourself as the expert that you are. You’ll be surprised at how appreciative members often are. In turn, many will send you connection requests, increasing the chances of their calling on you when he/she, or a friend, needs to buy or sell a home.
