Colorado REALTORS® and disaster relief
organizations worked swiftly in the early hours of the disaster to find housing
for those displaced by the fire. REALTORS® Amanda DiVito Parle and Shannon
Schliep launched the Marshall Fire Housing Needs and Availability Facebook
page. Knowing that Boulder’s real estate inventory
only had less than 2,000 homes and rental units available, they knew they
needed to act fast: “I think initially...

Although authorities have only begun
to assess the damage left behind by the Marshall and Middle Fork fires in
Boulder County communities, we now know upwards of 990 homes have been
destroyed, and hundreds more damaged, leaving thousands of people scrambling to
find a place to live in a real estate market with few choices. Several Colorado
REALTORS® even lost their own homes in the...

Three different Colorado REALTORS® are featured in NAR’s
“First-Time Buyer” which is streamed on Hulu. The show, an NAR-produced program
in its second season, showcases the obstacles first-time homebuyers face with
the guidance, expertise, and confidence provided by their REALTOR®. The REALTORS®
in the episodes dealt with taking their first-time homebuyers through multiple
offers; newer vs. old builds; and helping a family with a pig...

REALTORS® in Routt County are finding ways to put people in
homes despite the low inventory and median sales price. Steamboat Springs
REALTOR® Marci Valicenti said that since COVID, “people realized that (their)
home was never more important.” She and other REALTORS® have found it helpful
for clients to learn about cash offers, cut-off dates, and multiple offers.
They also make sure to show clients...

We are all horrified to watch the catastrophic wildfire
destruction that is taking place across Boulder County and the surrounding
communities. It’s no surprise that we’ve already heard from so many of our
members asking how they can help.
In these earliest hours/days of this tragedy, we’re working
to gather information, talk with local association leaders, community partners
and emergency management officials to define the...

Higher interest rates could be the only big change in Denver’s forecasted real estate market. Prices may increase a bit but should temper due to lack of inventory for consumers to choose from. “Not since October of 2020 has there been even one full month’s worth of inventory on the market and not ever before have we seen a winter...

Urban areas of Denver and Aurora are getting creative in
funding and finding affordable housing. Denver’s City Council approved a
rezoning effort along East Colfax to allow for Accessory Dwelling Units “ADU”,
sometimes called, “Granny Flats.” This rezoning change allows property owners
to use their garages, attics, or even new builds to rent, without having to
seek the city’s permission first. East Colfax now has...

There are more million-dollar homes on the market all over
Colorado than there were just a few years ago, and some are small or need
improvements. “There are homes out there that need a lot of work that are a
million, too, and they’re priced appropriately,” said CAR spokesperson Kelly
Moye. “So, it’s interesting to see how our market has joined San Francisco, New
York,...

The saga to build much-needed housing inventory in our
mountain communities continues with some new challenges. According to a report
from Community Wildfire Planning Center, the number of units built in the
wildland-urban interface in Colorado increased 74% since 2010. This also
includes an acreage increase of 300% from 2010-2030.
Some mountain towns that are unable to sustain these
increases are turning down development due...
